We are a small group interested in paranormal activity, based in Altoona, Pa. but investigate in all of Central Pa and beyond. Our mission is to search for the truth about the "other side". We believe that although Orbs can be spirits, not ALL Orbs are spirits. We also HOPE to be helpers to those on the "other side" who are looking to pass on one last message to loved ones left behind. We believe all claims and evidence should be looked into with an open mind and debunked to the fullest extent.
We believe that spirits walk among us all the time, just in a different light realm than what our eyes can see. We believe that the activity our equipment detects is caused by these spirits trying to make their presence known to us or trying to appear in our light realm. This is why we believe the best way to capture evidence of their existence is to use equipment designed to see in the light ranges they travel through. And because this is a field where nothing is completely certain and results can never be guaranteed, we also believe that there should never be a charge to people who come to us seeking answers.
When John and Beth first started Paranormal Investigating in 2009, they didn't think about posting things on the internet. They were just out to find answers for themselves and the people that asked for their help. While Honeymooning at the Spalding Inn (TAPS owned) they had an incident where they had their voice recorder running all night. At one point in reviewing the audio, they heard themselves both snoring and the small flashlight they had on the night stand next to the recorder pick up off the table and immediately drop back onto the night stand. A few seconds later, they hear the flashlight roll across the night stand. With having found many Paranormal groups on Facebook, they decided to make a page of their own this past year and start posting their findings. They also put up this page for those who do not want anything to do with Facebook.
John Albert - Founder/Lead Investigator
They have been investigating since 2008/2009. When John and Beth remarried, they chose the Spalding Inn in New Hampshire for their honeymoon, with the specific intention of ghost hunting there. Being a fan of the T.A.P.S. show, he has tried to model his investigations after theirs, making every attempt to explain things away with a logical explanation before calling it paranormal. Since then, he has added to his collection of equipment and believes his team works well together as a group, giving their clients the utmost respect when going into an investigation. His team has had a great working relationship with the Blair County Historical Society and enjoys every opportunity given to investigate on their property.
Beth Ann - Co-Founder/Co-Lead Investigator
She was working as an Accountant/Auditor when her and her husband started to get into investigations. Upon buying their house together, she began to notice their dog acting strangely at times, starring at the dining room and growling. She grabbed the equipment they had at the time and started investigating their home. Over the years, she's found that child spirits seem attracted to her and enjoys interacting with them wherever she crosses paths with them. She works hard at lining up investigations for the team and doing background research on the places being investigated. She also organizes ghost hunting fund raisers to help the local Humane Societies and Paranormal expos.
Sue - Tech Manager / Investigator
Working in the county Court House, she enjoys her weekends and evenings investigating the paranormal world. She took an interest in the paranormal when working at a local motel as a desk clerk and actually getting to meet the T.A.P.S. crew when they stayed there during their first taped investigation in Altoona. She now helps setting up equipment and picking out areas for investigation.
*These are the only OFFICIAL JABA team members. Page is updated immediately if anything changes*
Christian - Investigator
His interest in the paranormal started for him when he saw a man standing in his living room, but it vanished into thin air. He was so confused on what had just happened, so he researched it, and have been trying to find answers ever since. He has had his share of experiences, and love every minute of investigating. He also love helping people in anyway he can, and this is one of those ways he can help.. He is very dedicated to finding out the truth about what the paranormal is and why it happens.
Vicky - Case Manager / Investigator
She has always been interested in the paranormal ever since she was a little girl . She would spend the night at her cousins house which was in the country and they would settle in for the evening out on their front porch and their Uncle who has since passed on would run a reel to reel tape recorder to tape the evening noises of the crickets and bull frogs, but one night when he played it back he picked up a man whispering on the tape. Her two cousins were scared to death and said they would never go outside at night again. She, of course asked her Uncle if they could do it next week too. They didn't get actively involved in investigating until 2004. They have investigated numerous places such as private homes which she always enjoy. There is no better feeling then to go into someones home and ease their fears and to educate the family on the different kinds of hauntings. She has investigated at Bakers Mansion, Railroaders Museum, Captain Philips Monument, Baxter Ave Morgue in Kentucky, Whispers Estate in Kentucky along with Jailors Inn. and have also investigated the famous Waverly Hills and Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. She's hoping some day to come face to face with a Ghost.
Jodi - Investigator
Her interest in the paranormal and ghost world began as a child while staying at her Grandparents home. Her Nan always talked about the "weird" things that happened at their house and was never afraid. Her Nan always told her that they were trying to communicate with us, not scare or hurt us. And since her mother and her have always had a "sense" of knowing, they have always been interested in the unexplained. When she accidentally discovered the JABA group on the internet, she saw it as her opportunity to try to get some of the answers she had always sought. Hopefully by investigating these phenomena together we can share our findings with others who have the same desire.
Susan - Investigator
She was born in Mobile, Alabama. She has grown up with her Mother and Grand Mother both interested in the paranormal. The home she grew up in here in Altoona has had strange happenings since we moved there when she was in the 3rd grade. She enjoys investigating the unseen and the unexplained. Her Mother and her did an investigation at the Baker Mansion (Halloween 2016). It was very interesting to say the least. There, they met JABA Paranormal, and have been asked to join their team of investigators. She is truly looking forward to working with their team to learn more about the unexplained.
He has been interested in the paranormal for a long time but became even more interested when his wife joined JABA. He is a very analytical and skeptical person so he would love to have personal verification that the paranormal truly exists.
Anyone claiming to be a JABA team member and NOT pictured below is a Fraud
She grew up with a mother that was interested in the paranormal, so for her it was not new. Her interest peaked in 1976 when living outside Fort Cambell, Ky. in the country down a dirt road. The house they had just rented was full of belongings, the prior tenants took only their cloths when they left. They really didn't think twice about them leaving everything, until they lived there three months and she, herself could not wait to leave. There was scratching on the ceiling at night about my bed and on the wall behind her while watching TV in the living room. The last straw was when she woke up one morning being held down and unable to move. She believes the home she lives in now is also inhabited by two or more spirits. Her youngest son saw shadow people as a yong child, even seeing a man standing on the steps landing with a mustash that curled up on beoth ends (very popular 100 yrs. ago). She and her daughter met JABA Paranormal when at the Baker Mansion (Halloween 2016) doing an investigation. She is still seeking answers to the unknown. Hopefully with JABA Paranormal, those questions will be answered.
